Home coffee roastery business for sale.

Embarking on this journey wasn't just about launching a business; it was about making something lasting, using a minimal budget to prove that finance need not be the barrier, and all the while leaving a positive mark behind.

Months later, I took a new full-time role in my day to day job, resulting in less time available for CC. I’ve toyed with the idea of keeping hold for a comeback tour, but I think the time is right to see if I can find a new owner.

Below you’ll find details about the business performance, the markets and opportunity that exists, and sales details. All equipment and materials are provided, along with my support in your first months of ownership. Drop me a line if you’re keen!

Financials

Revenue*: £2,816.68

The business was only running for one year, but had already established a strong audience and product line. There is a significant opportunity to far exceed this.

Net Profit: £1,060.74 (~38%)

The coffee beans have between 53%-60% profit per unit, depending upon the grade of the bean sold. The ‘FUEL’ liquid instant coffee has a 78% profit per bottle sold.

Asking Price: £7,000 (o.n.o)

Given the level of turnover, the range of products, the established business and tools, along with the brand and following established, I believe this is a fair price.

*The recorded figure comes from Jan ‘22 - Jan ‘23, the last year the business operated.

Overview of Inventory

Established Ltd Company

The CC Coffee business operates under the name ‘CC Startups' Ltd’ at Companies House, with 2 years of records. The ownership of this business can be transferred if necessary.

Domain

I’ll transfer ownership of www.cc-coffee.co.uk to your domain hosting account. If you don’t have a website domain hosting account yet, I can help you set one up too.

E-Commerce Integrations

The CC Coffee website utilises a Stripe integration for accepting card payments online. This makes things incredibly easy to manage, with only a small service fee taken. I’ll transfer ownership and show you the ropes.

Business Management Tool

I set up a comprehensive business management spreadsheet in Google Sheets (the online version of Excel) with sections for Revenue/Inventory Management/Cost of Goods/Profit, to make management of the business incredibly simple, along with forecasting and producing end of year documents for tax reporting purposes.

Brewing Equipment

A few months in, I experimented with and came up with a liquid espresso concentrate product that I branded ‘FUEL’. With a 78% profit per bottle, it’s a beautiful product that sells itself. I’ll talk you through the process of roasting, brewing and packaging this exciting product.

Packaging

Each variety of coffee bean (and the FUEL product) has it’s own unique identity, label and accompanying merchandise sticker (customers love to collect these). You’ll receive rolls of these labels, a selection of coffee pouches and the stickers to get started right away.

Suppliers

I’ve established a fantastic relationship with a brilliant small-batch green bean importer. Their prices are perfect for a roastery of this size, and the stories of their producers are rich in narrative - to be shared with our customers and build the connections between customer and farmers.

Website

You’ll get access to this, the CC Coffee website, with content management system (built/hosted on Squarespace). Simple to use and customise, it has built in analytics and order tracking.

Email Accounts

@cc-coffee.co.uk email accounts are hosted on Google Mail. I’ll transfer ownership of these accounts to an account of your choosing, with any necessary support along the way.

In-person Card Payments

I took part in a UK beta programme with Stripe to be one of the first to have access to one of their card readers. I’ll pass this to you, so you can take in-person card payments at any events you might host/attend.

Roasting Equipment

I tried and tested a number of at-home coffee roasters before settling on a couple of electrical counter-top roasters (250g capacity each) to roast the beans. I’ll talk you through the roasting profile and technique for roasting, cooling and packaging the core product. It’s hands-on, artisanal and really good fun to do!

Storage Equipment

You’ll find yourself carrying a little stock to keep up with demand, so the business comes with 2 medium-sized storage racks (I had these tucked into a corner of my kitchen) complete with storage containers and glass display jars. Really does look the part and keep things smart.

Design Assets

I’m a designer by trade (my full-time role) so I’ll transfer ownership of the design files in a free software called ‘Figma’ (really easy to use!). In there you’ll find logos, labels, stickers, social media templates and graphics to hit the ground running and bring the brand to life.

Social Media Accounts

I’ll transfer ownership to the Instagram account with active following, plus email mailing list of existing customers and profiles on Facebook and LinkedIn. Customers have always responded well to the brand on social media, so you’ll be ready set to pick up where I left off.
