This wild and organically grown coffee is from the Rotutu cooperative of Letefoho, Ermera (Timor-Leste), and is made up of a group of 24 smallholder farmers, led by third-generation coffee farmer Francisco de Deus. Purchased using a cherry purchasing model, the farmers were paid $0.45/kg for hand-sorted premium red cherry (approximately 6.5kg of cherry will produce 1kg of green bean), one of the highest prices paid in East Timor in 2020 where the payment was made upon collection at farmgate.
